Marc Hewitt
Marc Hewitt has resided in the New Orleans area for the past 30 years. He’s been involved in the music business since 1981. He started his career working for a multi-media company producing sound tracks. He then began free-lancing as a recording engineer, guitarist and musician.
Marc worked at the famous Sea-Saint Recording Studios as an engineer from 1987 until 1990. With this experience he was able to move into a major facility and opened his own studio; Sound Services Recording Studios.
At Sound Services Recording Studios Marc worked as Sound Engineer, Producer and/or Musician with such artists as Allen Toussaint, Dave Bartholomew, Bo Dollis and Wild Magnolias, Monk Boudreaux, Lou Rawls, David Torkanowsky, Don Vappie, Willie Tee, Marva Wright, Guitar Slim Jr., Anders Osbourne, Irene Sage, Terrance Simlen, Jean Knight, Michelle Shocked, Greg Barnhill, Brian Stoltz, Andy Forest, Jumpin Johnny Sansone, Shane Theriot, Rudy Rotta, Otis Grand, The Boondoggies, KC Ray, Danny O’Flaherty, Willie Deville, Al Rapone, and Dmitri Resnik.
In August 2005 Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans and brought 10 feet of water into the studio, destroying the building and equipment.
Marc is currently working on recording projects out of his home in Slidell, Louisiana doing remote recording and free lance engineering. He has done several major releases since Katrina and has worked on projects in Australia as well as here in the states.
