Crystal Dawn

Crystal DawnCrystal Dawn is a graduate of Grambling State University with a BA. in Radio and Television and a MA. in Liberal Arts. During her studies at the university she won a talent contest and was selected by the Department of Defense to perform in Korea, Guam, and the Philippines, as well as Okinawa. She performed on the Air Craft Carrier Midway and the Air Craft Carrier Kansas City in the Pacific Ocean, traveling by helicopter from ship to ship. She went through intensive training for touring at the University of Mexico. As a result of this tour, she was featured in Jet Magazine.

Crystal is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. She worked as a Disc Jockey for the university while attending and also for KRUS Radio Station in Ruston, Louisiana. After graduating from college she moved to New York to try to pursue her music career. She later moved back to Louisiana and worked as a Residence Hall Manager for Grambling State University. She married and had twin daughters and now resides in Slidell, LA where she teaches first grade for a private school. She also taught music for the same school and was given the honor to write the school anthem called Calvary.

Crystal’s song Colors was sung by singer, Lynda LaCour and the group New Voices of Life for Grambling University’s home coming. The Tiger Marching band performed it.

Her life still revolves around music in which she has done numerous studio projects with songs that she has written and will continue to pursue this avenue toward the realization of her dreams.
